The City’s equalized assessed value exceeds $962 Million and has a bond rating of AA by Standard & Poor’s Corporation and Aa2 by Moody’s Investor Services Inc.

 

The experienced Planner position is responsible for managing and performing professional planning functions and providing leadership in the day-to-day planning department.  Additionally, the Planner position is expected to coordinate the development of comprehensive plans and coordinate the selection of consultants and steering committee members for the City. 

 

The Planner will also: research gather data, and prepare reports, presentations, publications, spreadsheets, tables, and charts; prepare and review packages for various public meetings, including Planning Commission and Parking Authority and will review meeting minutes and prepare reports for City Council.  This position will also review census materials in preparation to present council and voting districts for review.  Additionally, this position is charged with researching and preparing amendments to the zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

·        A minimum 5 years’ experience in urban planning, zoning regulations, economic growth and community development.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Architecture, Planning, Construction, Engineering or related field.  Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Possess a current AICP certification OR willingness and ability to obtain and maintain.

 

The salary range is $47,024 – 71,552 and actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
