The City of Pelham is looking for aDirector of Development Services and Public Works, and we’re not interested inordinary.  We are a vibrant and growing city of 24,000 residents and 1,800businesses located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountainsin Alabama’s fastest growing county.  Our director has accepted aposition with Shelby County and will continue to work with us and support thecity in his new role. 

The Director is responsible for managing thedaily operations of a department consisting of 65 team members in engineering,public works, water, sewer and building and inspection services with a combined$17 million budget. The ideal candidate will be a visionary experiencedprofessional leader who employs  strategic best practices to determine themost effective and efficient use of resources to achieve the departmentmission.  The director will work closely with Shelby County, the AlabamaDepartment of Transportation, The Regional Planning Commission, all citydepartments and surrounding communities to collaborate on projects of variousscope and size.  Our city recently approved $70 million in new developmentagreements which will bring fresh and unique projects to Pelham.  Theideal candidate will be a successful builder of teams and enjoy coaching othersto achieve their maximum potential.
